Thurlow Street
Lined with taller buildings, Thurlow Street provides an important link to Elephant & Castle to the north and Burgess Park to the south.
Sedan Way
Includes an apartment block that contains generous maisonettes on the ground and first floor with apartments above to fifth floor level. There is also a set back top floor containing apartments with large terraces. The street is completed by the gable end of new homes on East Street which contains a variety of windows and balconies. The whole street has simple forms with calm brick façades and generous windows.
Lined by three storey family houses and the south facing gable elevations of the apartment blocks on Thurlow Street and Sedan Way at either end. The town houses have small private front gardens (and larger gardens to the rear) and individual front doors. The entrance to the pedestrian Mews street and access to the eastern communal garden is also along this street, as is the access to the basement car park.
This has a much smaller scale, characterised by local shops with upper parts. East Street market is at the heart of the local community. The road provides key traffic and bus routes to Walworth Road in the west and Old Kent Road to the east.
